Seasonal Maintenance 

                                     
                                                                   Here’s a quick guide to help you through the winter months:

1) Check on your water level periodically.
This step is an easy visual to ensure that your water level is at the same spot throughout the winter months.
2) After heavy or consistent rain or snow, drain your ground water stack pipe or blow out your drainage channels if you are on a slope/retaining wall before lowering the pool or spa water level. This step MUST be done BEFORE the pool or spa water level is lowered. This will ensure that ground water is removed from the area surrounding the pool and will help prevent bulging and/or settling. Failing to do this step first will result in a voided warranty, especially for fiberglass pool owners. 
3) Clean larger debris from the pool or spa before winterizing. This step is useful in order to prevent staining to your liner or gel coat. Large amounts of leaves or construction debris can leave behind stubborn stains. A skimming net or a leaf net is a great tool for this.
4) Provide a safety barrier. A pool or spa can be hard to see with snow blanketing the entire space. It is recommended that a clearly marked fence or failing that, a winter cover be installed on the pool or spa. This will prevent potential accidents around the pool and provide a clear barrier. If your pool is under construction during the winter months, a construction safety fence is strongly recommended.
